I think writing down goals is an extremely important habit to have. I also believe in thinking big. So in this post, one of the very first on my blog, I am going to write out my medium term goals (5 years). This post will serve as a personal motivator for me as I refresh back to it and remind myself what it is I am working towards. It is my hope also, that people will take inspiration from it as they see what is truly possible in life. I am starting today without any assets and little to no cash. Feel free to ask me anytime how successful I am in achieving these goals and I will answer honestly. This sort of accountability is great in my opinion and I love when people check up on me to see how I am doing in my goals. It motivates me more than anything else.
One last note. If you feel that my goals are too big, too lofty, unrealistic, or not attainable that is fine. I only ask that you don’t go out of your way to discourage me. If I am crazy let me live in my own little personal crazy house, don’t waste your time trying to save me, live your life and be happy.
Financial Goals (within 5 years)
- A house worth $500,000.
- A second home in the country worth $300,000.
- A new Mazerati worth $80,000.
- A crotch rocket worth $15,000.
- A Jeep worth $8,000
- No more personal debt.
- $300,000 in cash and other liquid assets.
- $300,000 invested in Stocks and other investments
- $500,000 invested in Real Estate which grows to $3,000,000 in equity within 5 years from the time of purchase.
Non Financial
- 2 weeks vacation time at least 3 times per year.
- Be my own boss and work no more than 30 hours per week on average.
- Intelligent friends involved in business, art, and travel.
- A powerful physical body weight of 185 pounds and less than 12% body fat.
- Go on a date with Taylor Swift.
The specific plans I have to reach all these goals are both detailed and variable. I am constantly seeking new knowledge and as I find new things that help me towards my goals I implement it to my life. That being said I don’t think it really matters how I go about it. The important part is that I have made these goals and commit myself daily to their attainment. The process wouldn’t be any fun if I knew exactly how it was going to go.
If you have similar, or even very different goals and you are interested in sharing or discussing them please leave comments so we can start a discussion.
